Yacht Prices in Thailand — What to Expect in 2025

One of the most common questions SLV Marine receives from new enquirers is simple: how much does a yacht cost in Thailand? The answer spans an enormous range — from modestly priced coastal cruisers accessible to first-time buyers, to multi-million-dollar superyachts. This guide breaks down yacht prices in Thailand across every major category, and — critically — covers the running costs that the purchase price alone does not reveal.

Purchase Prices by Vessel Category

Entry-Level Sailing Yachts (35–45ft)

The most accessible entry point into yacht ownership in Thailand. Well-maintained Hanse, Jeanneau, or Beneteau models from the 1990s through early 2000s trade between $50,000 and $120,000. These vessels are entirely suitable for coastal sailing and occasional overnight passages, though they typically require more frequent maintenance than newer builds.

Mid-Range Motor Yachts (45–55ft)

Azimut, Prestige, and Princess models in this size range represent the broadest and most active trading segment for yacht prices in Thailand. Expect $120,000–$350,000 for vessels from 2000–2015. These yachts accommodate four to six guests comfortably for day trips and short overnight passages.

Catamarans (42–55ft)

Catamaran pricing in Thailand reflects their strong demand. Lagoon 440 and 560 models from 2005–2015 command $180,000–$500,000. Larger 55–65 foot cats — the Lagoon 630 MY and similar — run $700,000–$1,400,000 depending on year and specification. The catamaran premium over equivalent monohulls is consistent and reflects genuine capability advantages.

Luxury Motor Yachts (60–80ft)

Ferretti, Sunseeker, and custom builds in this range are priced $400,000–$1,800,000, with wide variation based on yard, age, and refit status. These vessels typically require professional crew and offer the capability for extended offshore passages.

Superyachts (80ft+)

The Phuket superyacht market has matured significantly. Vessels such as the Sanlorenzo SX100 and Custom Line 112 in our current inventory are priced $2,500,000–$4,000,000+. Buyer interest at this level increasingly comes from Asian buyers for whom Thailand is geographically and fiscally advantageous as a base.

Annual Running Costs — The Full Picture

No guide to yacht costs in Thailand is complete without running cost context. As a broad rule: annual operating costs run 10–15% of vessel value per year. For a $300,000 yacht, that means $30,000–$45,000 in annual costs. Key line items:

  • Marina fees: $500–$2,000/month depending on vessel size and marina
  • Crew: $800–$2,500/month for a captain/caretaker; more for larger vessel crews
  • Annual maintenance: Antifoul, servicing, osmosis prevention — typically $5,000–$20,000 depending on vessel age and size
  • Insurance: $3,000–$15,000/year depending on vessel value and coverage area
  • Fuel: Highly variable — sailing yachts at one extreme, high-performance motor yachts at the other

Charter Income — Offsetting Costs

Many Thailand yacht owners enrol their vessels in charter programmes to offset running costs. Well-managed 50–65 foot motor yachts in Phuket's charter market can generate $2,000–$6,000 per week during peak season. SLV Marine assists owners in setting up and managing charter programmes.
